When I think of Grandad I remember the charming letters he used to send us when we were children. He would sketch little kitties in the margin - Zachary kitten, Melanie kitten, Daniel kitten and Timothy kitten having adventures together!
As well as being probably the most interesting and erudite person I know, Grandad was full of the wisdom that comes from walking long with Jesus. At our last visit, he gave us the advice, "Know yourself and be yourself" - since being a Christian is a process of God making us more fully into the person He designed us to be. Now he is completely perfected in Glory.

I didn't get to see Grandad as often as I would have liked but we shared some good times together. One of my earliest memories is staying with him and Granny in a static caravan. I was only about 4. Another time he impressed me and my sister with his reactions when his hat was blown off by a gust of wind and he spun round and caught it! He always seemed to have words of wit and wisdom and taught me to 'measure twice, cut once'. He had interest and ability in a wide range of practical and intellectual fields, which has inspired me to do likewise.

I love Great Granny and I loved Great Grandad. Great Grandad was very kind. It's sad that Great Grandad died.
