Faversham

David came to minister at Faversham Baptist Church following an interregnum. At that time the church was coming to terms with the resignation of our previous minister.

He set about rebuilding the life of the church pastorally and through bible study and regular in depth teaching. In this teaching he revealed the breadth of  his reading, music, poetry, philosophy and introduced us to ideas we may not have been aware of. He settled well into the life of the town working with the Boys Brigade and the Girls Brigade. He was always supported by Jennie whose warmth to the community was a joy to us all. During his time with us his health became a cause for concern but following surgery he was soon, following doctor's orders, undertaking long walks, often with his friend Mr Ingram.

I am sure there are many people in Faversham who benefitted from his quiet ministry of care. I know I did.

It was a particular joy to see David baptise our daughter who, following her ordination, is still serving communities in the Midlands.
